More birthday pics

Grandpa Hansen's 85th Birthday Bash

We had a family get-together for those family members who could come on Grandpa's birthday August 16th. Glen, Mel, Ken, Randall and Diane's families attended. Those who could come anyway! We had a potluck and Bonnie made a twinkie-cupcake cake that she designed on styrofoam. Julie put it together after they arrived. It looked adorable and so fitting for a guy that thinks Hostess is a food group! Thanks Bonnie sorry you couldn't make it!

BABY QUILTS FOR THE NEW BABIES!

Jackie, McKenna and I just finished quilts for Hallee and Jack. They were made with a variety of black and white prints and that soft minky fabric. Pink green and white for the new baby girl and two shades of blue for the new baby boy. Great Grandma Hansen said that she would bind them for us! That is the hard part! This was a fun activity on a rainy day!

Cycling Chicks around the Lake

Finally after all the years that I have lived in Bear Lake I was able to bike around the entire lake! Our group consisted of ladies young and old like me who called themselves the cycling chicks. There were about 15 of us and most of us made it the whole 51 miles. It was fun and I enjoyed training the past few months every morning rain or shine! Thank you Ginger, Christina and Hassie for keeping me motivated!

The Quilt is Done!!!

I just got the quilt back from getting quilted. I sent it to Lori Gray in Cedar City. She had done one other quilt for me and I think she does a fabulous job! Hope you like it Lindsey!!!

Little Gardner

McKenna came over just in time to plant a few flowers and herbs in some planter boxes that we rounded up from the barn. They are just the perfect size. McKenna was excited to plant cilantro, or she just liked saying the word!

Lindsey's Quilt!

Just finished this quilt for Lindsey, at least the quilt top anyway! I need to send it to my friend to have her quilt it and then it will be done! It was fun and easy to do, Lindsey picked out the pattern and the fabric so I hope she likes it!

The Mayor in the front seat

OUR FIRST HELICOPTER RIDE!

What a fun start to a Saturday morning! We both got to go for a ride in a helicopter over the lake. The Mayor was invited to take a test ride and I got to go with him. They want to give rides over Raspberry Days and wanted to do show us what it was like. It was SO MUCH FUN! Everyone should make their plans to take the opportunity when it comes in August! Take a look at the pics and find our house!

Lindsey's Quilt

Lindsey picked out this fun fabric from Moda. I think it is just her style! Also easy for me to make. I am excited to see it when it is all done. I just started so it may take a day or two to make a queen sized quilt but I am having fun doing it!

Hat creations

Wow! I can make one of these in about 3 hours! You should try it!

The bottom one on the left is my favorite, it is made with that really soft yarn.

Check out these fun hats!

I have been making some knitted caps for the humanitarian projects in our ward. I though McKenna was a great model to see how they look. She is a great sport! Let me know what you think. They are kind of fun to do so I think I'll make some more!

Sleepy Time

McKenna has always had this cute habit with putting her hand in her armpit when she goes to sleep. Thought we better capture it!

Sunday Night Popcorn

McKenna and Grandpa are having a little popcorn while Grandma gets the airbed ready for the sleepover.

Oceanside Sunset

What a beautiful sunset that we enjoyed as we walked along the pier. We shared some fish and chips and Ruby's, a family favorite!

Oceanside Pier

The famous Oceanside Pier is 1/3 of a mile long and the longest wooden pier in the country. Here is a neat view of the pier looking underneath!

Laguna Beach

We drove up the coast and found a really nice place to sit and mediatate! What a great day that was soaking up the sun!

The Special Day

What a nice day we had on December 27th 2008. Kendra Hansen and Shean Bjoralt were married in the Salt Lake Temple. They had a nice group of family and friends in attendance and we felt the warmth of the day through their spirits. It was great to meet Shean's family from Minnesota and felt like we had known them forever! We are so happy that they found each other and that Shean is now a part of our family! Thanks everyone for such a special day!
