McKenna & Nate's Sledding Adventure

Yesterday Maren invited us over to her mom's to take the kids sledding. McKenna liked it for the most part, but she got a little nervous when we would go fast. She especially liked getting her gloves in the snow and then eating it. I guess it's kind of like ice and she LOVES ice. Nate had his own little sled that had a back rest and even a seatbelt! He loved it and was so cute! When Maren would ask him if he wanted to go sledding he would say "weeee!" I thought it was so cute! McKenna mostly loved playing with Nate. Everytime we would pass him in the sled, she would say "Hi!" We had a great time!

Calling all Family Members!!!!

Okay, when I was home a few weeks ago, Mom and Dad and I were talking about the Young Women Personal Progress program. It seems like such an easy thing to do to get your Young Women award, and all of the goals and value projects improve your life and make you a better person.

Well, I was thinking about that and decided that maybe all of us should take a challenge to be better members ourselves. I think we could all read a few more scriptures, go to the temple more, and serve others more. I remember when our whole family took the Book of Mormon challenge from Pres. Hinckley a few years ago. I know that we were all blessed by doing that. So, I decided to issue a challenge to read the Book of Mormon again this year and to go to the temple at least once a month. When I mentioned this to Jackie, she told me about a post that she had seen on another blog about the Hinckley Challenge. Around 27,800 people have signed up so far and there's even a reading chart to keep you on track. The goal of this group is to read the Book of Mormon in 97 days, the number of years Pres. I think it's a great challenge and a great motivation to see others doing it. Either way you decide to do it, we'll all get it done by the end of the year! From Bogggling to Blogging

When I first heard of a Blog it was almost a year ago. It was so new to me that I really didn't know anything about it. I even mistakenly called it a "Boggle". I know that sounds funny but until I saw what it was, I didn't realize it was a " Blog" and that it would be something fun to do, kind of like keeping a journal on line. Now, a year later and so behind the times Kendra has practically done it for me! She is so fast and creative I think she is hired to do it for me. I may make a comment now and then but Kendra.............you're hired!!!

Sunday Mornings

So, since they split the ward in Garden City, Mom & Dad now have Sunday mornings available to relax, and maybe even prepare a lesson! It's definitely different to get used to having church later in the afternoon. I know that Mom & Dad had mixed feelings about it, but now they are loving it. I'm sure it's different for little families with kids, but how could you not like sleeping in a little, having a nice breakfast, listening to some good music, and reading and preparing for your lessons. I was home a couple of weeks ago, and we realized how nice it was to just get yourself into the spirit and be ready to go to church and learn. Church isn't just something that we go to to get done. I think it makes Sundays a little nicer, even if I miss the afternoon naps before driving back home! Mom sure is loving her new office! It's a nice, quiet place to go to relax and read!

By the way, I'm helping Mom get her blog going and maybe we can all share this blog with our family to keep them up to date with what's going on with the Hansen Fam!
